Editorial Content Lead

King Fish Media is looking for an in-house editorial leader who is client-focused, self-motivated, digitally-savvy and results-driven.  The right candidate will bring impressive hands-on editorial experience both creating and commissioning a wide range of rich content (e.g., Website content, research, whitepapers, articles, blogs, social posts, infographics, case studies, ads and more) all with a focus on engaging, nurturing, and moving audiences through various customer journey paths.

You will be, first and foremost, a seasoned, published writer who knows how to craft, package and merchandise content to engage audiences across different media, be it online, in print, through video, or social. You will consult, strategize and manage the execution and integration of custom content strategies that drive growth. You will contribute to content strategy for our website and marketing publications, while actively working with our Account team to develop audience-centric editorial strategies for clients, perform copywriting, editing, proofreading and fact-checking services and manage our growing database of freelance writers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Contribute to editorial strategy, planning and process development for multiple clients from start to finish
Edit / proofread articles, whitepapers, case studies and other thought leadership content focused on a variety of King Fish client vertical markets
Manage all freelance copy/editorial contributors
Edit content, manage proofreading and fact-checking for all programs/channels
Work closely with designers to craft a range of content assets as needed and where your experience is relevant (e.g., Website content, infographics, newsletters, webinar series, collateral materials, rich ad units, etc.).
Maintain style guides for all clients noting variances from AP style guide
Collaborate with our internal marketing/sales teams to ensure they have the most relevant, compelling content to drive engagement with prospects
Manage ongoing content curation for King Fish website (blogs etc.)

Qualifications:

7-10 years of experience in comparable content/editorial role –agency experience highly desirable
Exemplary writing, editorial, proofreading and research skills with portfolio of work (AP Style guide)
Experience managing editorial staff and/or freelancers, agencies
Digitally literate with experience developing content across a wide range of media and social platforms
Proven experience producing quality work in fast-paced, deadline- and sales-driven environment
Generalist – experience writing for general consumer and B2B audiences.  Deeper content as well as compelling ad and social content.
