Meet the Team - Frequently Asked Questions
CEOs and CMOs evaluating a marketing partner want to know who they will actually be working with. These are the questions we hear most about our team, our experience, and how we work.
Cam Brown, Sue Twombly, and Scot Forbes are directly involved in every engagement at KingFish + Partners - not just at kickoff and final presentations, but throughout the work. Cam leads strategy and client relationships, Sue drives content strategy and program execution, and Scot leads creative direction and design. This is not a structural promise we make and then walk back once the contract is signed - it is how the agency is built. We do not have a model that uses senior people to win business and junior teams to deliver it. The size of the team is what makes this possible and what we consider a structural advantage over larger agencies where senior involvement is a premium add-on rather than a default.
Cam Brown is President and CEO of KingFish + Partners and has led the agency since its founding in 2001. He works directly with CEOs, CMOs, and VPs of Marketing on high-stakes positioning, brand, website, and growth challenges - particularly in financial services, healthcare, B2B technology, and transportation and logistics. Cam is typically brought in when the problem is not obvious, the stakes are high, and leadership needs clarity more than hype. He is especially drawn to complex organizational moments - fundraising, acquisitions, roll-ups, market repositioning - where the brand and messaging need to reflect where the business is going rather than where it has been. He can be reached directly at cbrown@kingfishandpartners.com.
Sue Twombly is SVP of Strategy and Client Services at KingFish + Partners. She leads strategy and client relationships, helping leadership teams align around a clear narrative and carry it through into content and marketing execution. Sue is most often involved when marketing feels active but unfocused - when there is a gap between the effort being invested and the outcomes being produced. She excels at turning complex organizational inputs into practical plans clients can actually sustain, and is especially effective when content and messaging need to be credible, consistent, and tied to real business goals rather than marketing activity for its own sake.
Scot Forbes is Creative Director at KingFish + Partners. He translates positioning strategy into brand and digital experiences that are clear, modern, and usable - spanning identity systems, website experience, and creative direction across channels. Scot's work spans visual identity, logo design, web design, and brand system development for financial services, healthcare, and B2B technology organizations. He is most motivated when creative work directly improves decision-making - when a brand and website do not just look better, but make the company easier to trust and easier to choose. His creative direction is evident in KingFish's award-winning campaign and brand work across multiple Davey Award-recognized engagements.
KingFish + Partners was founded in 2001 and has been operating as an independent marketing agency for over twenty years. In that time the team has worked across financial services, fintech, healthcare, B2B technology, transportation and logistics, and education - with a concentration in complex, regulated, and high-consideration industries where the quality of strategic thinking matters more than production volume. The durability of the agency reflects something specific: a consistent focus on senior-level client relationships, a refusal to grow beyond the point where senior practitioners can stay directly involved in the work, and a track record of award-winning work that reflects genuine craft rather than marketing convention.
KingFish + Partners has earned multiple Davey Awards, Pearl Awards, and Content Marketing Awards across healthcare, financial services, B2B technology, and transportation and logistics. Specific recognitions include a Silver Davey Award for Best Integrated Campaign in Healthcare and Pharma for The Elliot Hospital in 2025, Gold and Silver Davey Awards for B2B and financial services campaign work including Nuance Healthcare and New York Life in 2018, a Silver Davey Award for a multimedia campaign for Keolis in 2023, Pearl Awards for digital content marketing excellence for Cengage Learning and Nuance Healthcare, and a Content Marketing Award for the Best Infographic Series for Connection in 2025. These awards reflect work produced for real clients with real business objectives - not speculative or self-promotional work produced for award purposes.
The KingFish Experts Network is a consortium of over 750 subject matter experts and specialized practitioners who extend the core team's capabilities across industries and disciplines. The network includes specialists in financial services, healthcare, cybersecurity, technology, logistics, and education - as well as practitioners in copywriting, video production, web and UX design, SEO, and more. This model allows KingFish + Partners to bring genuine subject matter expertise to content and campaign work without the overhead of a large permanent staff. When a financial services engagement requires someone who has worked inside the industry, or a healthcare content program requires a writer with clinical background, the Experts Network provides that depth. The core leadership team - Cam, Sue, and Scot - maintains strategic and creative direction across all engagements regardless of which network specialists are involved.
KingFish + Partners has worked with organizations across the four industries where we concentrate - financial services and fintech, healthcare, B2B technology, and transportation and logistics. Financial services clients have included New York Life, Truthifi, Ascot Group, and Nasdaq. Healthcare clients have included The Elliot Hospital, Nuance Healthcare, HouseWorks, and Element Care. B2B technology clients have included CSI, Connection, and Forbes Insights. Transportation and logistics clients have included Keolis. If your organization operates in one of these sectors, the pattern recognition we bring from that prior work is one of the most practical things we offer - we have seen the problems you are facing in other organizations, and we understand the constraints that shape what solutions are actually viable in your industry.
Clients consistently describe working with KingFish + Partners as direct, calm, and focused on solving the right problem rather than producing the most visible activity. We do not generate work for the sake of demonstrating effort. We do not present multiple strategic options when one is clearly correct. We do not delay decisions by over-researching things that experience already answers. Day to day, that means efficient communication, clear recommendations, and work that moves forward at a pace that reflects genuine momentum. We are also honest when something is not working or when the scope needs to change - which is less comfortable in the short term and more valuable in the long term than an agency that tells you what you want to hear to protect the relationship.
For new business conversations, the best starting point is Cam Brown directly at cbrown@kingfishandpartners.com or through the contact form at kingfishmedia.com/contact. Cam handles all initial conversations personally - you will not be routed through a business development layer or asked to fill out a lengthy intake form before speaking with a senior person. For general inquiries, the main number is 978-745-4140. KingFish + Partners is based at 900 Cummings Center, Suite 307-V, Beverly, MA 01915.
